The Transiting Nodes






The North Node in Gemini encourages us to open up to new experiences, people and things through the house it is transiting. We need to practice a sense of healthy curiosity which means we are open in our approach and yet still utilizing some caution: we are still aware of any external or internal warning signs or blips on one's radar! Yet the main focus is on exploration and communicating about what we have learned with others as well as communicating more easily with the inner archetypes and sub-personalities we all carry within. In the house the North node is transiting at this time we need to learn something new both about the world around us as well as our inner self.
Communication takes on a prominent role with the North Node transiting though Gemini. A person may find that the symbolism of the house the North node is in becomes activated and many messages are flying back and forth about these matters with others. Education that ranges from bits of trivia that prove to be most helpful to taking on short term courses of study may also prove to be a factor. The mind may feel overactive in regards to the house being transited or the person may feel overwhelmed by all the information that is coming in to them from others. Time may feel more sped up than normal in regards to the affairs of the house being transited. The way to help get a handle on these things is to set priorities. One can only do so much in the time allotted each day and the affairs of the transited house may be taking on greater significance and so matters there might weigh more heavily on the mind and thus should be tended to first. Yet this is also a great time to dig one's self out from under old habits and belief systems that kept you stuck in a rut or prevented you from moving forward in some way. What you are likely to find is that the things you feel most drawn to completing or working on are the very things that you have felt the urge or longing to do. Mercury, which rules Gemini, is the messenger of the Gods and wise is the person who heeds the messages coming through at this time. Heeding those messages means you get on with what you feel drawn to do and allow other projects and tasks to take more of a back seat. Often when we tackle those things that we have the strongest resonance with, other things fall into place to accommodate and support us in these endeavors.
Most people may feel a strong need to explore new things through books, newspapers, writing and other forms of communication. Even reading the tabloids can prove to be most enlightening for some. Certainly keeping a journal to connect more strongly with one's Guides and Angels is most helpful at this time, as is simply paying attention to what thoughts flow through your mind when you are not focused on anything in particular. It is likely you will gain a great deal of insight into yourself.
How and what we are communicating can be influenced by the house the T.North node is working it's way through. Along with communicating, listening is also of great importance at this time! Listening means to suspend all judgement, simply taking in what is being communicated to you before responding with a reply or action. So often what happens is that many of us are already thinking of how we are going to reply before the other person is even through speaking for example! To truly listen means we allow ourselves the space to take in what another is communicating to us. We listen for the nuances and tones that express the totality of what the person is saying. This also allows us to hear our own guides and respond from a heart centered as well as a mind centered space.
During this time we need to ask questions and keep asking them until we get answers that satisfy us or can open the doors to new learning. We need to insure that we are empowered by what we are learning and not just being led blindly along the path of someone else's life philosophy. The paradox of duality is also thrown into the mix here. Often people feel a pull between a desire to do one thing and yet also fear that following through may limit them in some other aspect of their lives. In psychological terms this is referred to as splitting and is a common aspect of the human psyche. Yet during this time we are also being given an opportunity to examine and learn how we may make room for both things, having one does not automatically cancel out the other. An example of this may be someone who wants to have a career and yet does not desire to leave their children in someone else's care while they pursue a career. One solution may be to start a home based business! The solution may and most likely will require much preparation and effort, and yet if the split or conflict is truly important enough for the person to resolve, they will find they have the needed enthusiasm and focus needed to accomplish the tasks. This also weeds out those things that on the surface appeared to be of great importance, but in reality were being used as a mask to cover up what the true conflict was.

It is where we begin the process of moving out into the world and to accomplish this successfully, we must feel both safe and empowered. With Gemini here, the task is to be well educated, to think and understand for one's self and not allow others to sway your beliefs or opinions without careful thought first. T. North Node here encourages you to further develop your communication and listening skills so that you may hear not just others, but also what is going on within the recesses of your own mind. Healthy curiosity needs to be stimulated and you may need to understand that there are no stupid questions! Asking questions and gathering information is important for you and helps you to feel capable and at ease with being in the world. Knowledge is power. Second House - This is the house through which we come to understand what is of true value to us, what we love and what we are willing to spend our precious time and energy on. We also learn through this house how to utilize our resources more fully and even to become more aware of how vast our resources can be! So often we fail to recognize all that we have been given by the Universe to make out lives as joyful as possible and focus on what we think we are lacking instead.
Becoming more aware of what one really values as opposed to what one has been taught to value through the 8th house can be extremely liberating at this time. Goals and activities one was pursuing out of a misguided sense of value can be dropped and those things that truly expand one's mind and resources can take their place. A person may find that if they are awake and aware to the messages that life is sending them that they will be handed many varied opportunities to expand their resources financially as well as learning new things that will greatly enrich their lives in other ways. A person can find the ability to prioritize and set worthwhile goals for themselves that feed the true values of the soul.

Third House - Your connections with siblings, your neighborhood/community, short distance journeys and your general style of communicating are found here.Also the way in which your mind works when faced with the flotsam and jetsam of everday life. How you respond on an auto pilot basis, whether or not it happens to be in your own best interests!
What are you communicating to yourself and thus to others and the Universe? Remember, what ever you are thinking sends a message as to what you believe you deserve so work on making sure that your messages to the Universe are slanted towards the positive as much as possible!
You may also find that you are doing alot of coming and going in your local area and there may be some opportunities to help you broaden your daily perspective in some way. Perhaps a class is started in your immediate area on a topic you would really like to learn more about, taking the class is an exellent way of working with this transit in a positive way. So is the use of affirmations at this time, they may have more power and impact for you now than ever before so put your heart into it when you are working with them!

Fourth House - This is the house of the soul and our deepest roots. What helps us to feel safe and secure is found in this house (also where the moon is in one's natal chart). The sort of physical home we create, our own sacred space that is meant to provide a safe harbor for us so we can more effectively navigate the outside world. When the North Node in Gemini transits this house in the natal chart it can indicate that now is the time to really connect with the place that you call home. Does it support or drain you? Is it furnished with the things you love or are all the things you own speaking to you in negative ways? Does your home provide you with a sense of peace and comfort or if not, what can you do to change that? As you begin to get more in touch with your own home, you may find that your parents, your ancestors and the deepest part of your own soul also begin to communicate with you in ways that are very enlightening. Dolphin Transitions This is an essence that has been coming up repeatedly for many people, the Dolphin kingdom is reminding us that even though many of us have been undergoing some major transitions in the past few months that we are also being highly supported and guided at this time. Dolphins are well known for rescuing people from drowning, the most recent such case I have heard about was when the young boy Elian Gonzalez was stranded out at sea after the boat he and his mother were in capsized. He later said that Dolphins helped keep him alive, that they protected him during his long ordeal. The Dolphin kingdom are willing to do the same for all who ask, they understand that the true purpose of any transition is to lead us onto a higher path and flow so that we may experience more of the joy and happiness that can be experienced here on Planet Earth. When we can allow ourselves to be supported the Universe can step in and sort things out for us, we were never meant to do it all alone.

Bear's Thread Excellent for fear of aging, passing seasons. Gleaning knowledge and wisdom from all of life's experiences and sharing them with others. Sewing together the tapestry of your ancestors knowing and wisdom that it may be shared with the generations to come. Also excellent for use after any kind of surgery, illness or accident.

Fifth House - Risk taking, creative pursuits, romance and children are all found in this house. Life is about creatively taking risks that will increase our joy and give us reasons to live. What we think about the topics this house represents thus adds to or subtracts from, our lives in some way. Our thoughts and what we communicate at deeper levels or if we are of "two minds" about something, can hamper our ability to create something new and different for ourselves.
We may on a conscious level think that we are actively seeking change and growth, yet our deeper thoughts may be in direct conflict with what we are thinking we want on the surface. The result is a stalemate in which no energy is moving at all. Learning how to creatively access the opposing hidden side of the self opens up the dialogue during which both sides can be heard and reconciled. Essences:

The values we inherit from our parents, ancestors in general, society and peers are also found here. The liklihood is that all of these things are apt to be up for review and examination. It is likely that one may feel compelled to seriously examine all of these things, to confront directly that which has been repressed or hidden. At least we will make the attempt if we are wise with the North Node transiting here! This is Pluto's natural home and while Pluto has received a lot of bad press in astrology, bear in mind that he is also the God of wealth and that wealth in all its forms becomes available to us when we are willing to go int the depths of ourselves here. Just as physical death can bring a great release and liberation from pain and suffering, so too can be very freeing the death of beliefs and values that are limiting or sabotaging you in some way.

Amber - A wonderful essence for assisting a person in getting unstuck, gets energy flowing smoothly again. I personally have noticed that whenever I use this essence or wear Amber that many good things tend to happen to me.

Anthrophyllite - A very important essence for helping people understand that restraints and limitations are self-created, not imposed upon one from without. Helps to release belief systems that are no longer conducive to growth, expands horizons and brings about a sense of hope for the future.

Ninth House - Life philosophy, religion, long distance travel, higher education and Universal Law are all found here. One may feel pulled towards learning a variety of new things as well as reaching for a greater understanding of Universal Law, cause and effect. Some may feel guided to pursue a new course of study while others may feel the need to stop and integrate what has already been learned. With the transiting north node here in Gemini a person may feel compelled to create legacies that communicate what they feel their life's purpose is really all about. There may be a desire to expand upon what one has already created and to share that in some way with others. Some may desire greater recognition for their work/career and may set about to attract more of that to themselves. The danger here is that the person ma try to take short cuts instead of making sure that all the details have been taken care of.
